Streets of Tarkov Player Count

Escape from Tarkov is planning to launch its biggest map ever later this year.

Streets of Tarkov is the new raid feature that will include between 30 to 40 players, a vast increase compared to the typical map size.

Currently, maps can have up to 14 players and several NPCs; however, this will boost the player count far beyond anything players have seen before.

The Plan for the Streets of Tarkov Release

The plan is to release this new map in the game’s 0.13 update, alongside other gameplay improvements.

We got our first look at Streets of Tarkov during yesterday’s TarkovTV Live stream. It will not be the whole planned chunk of the city; it will just be some area, as said by Battletate Games COO Nikita Buyanov.

Still, it will be really big in terms of different buildings, exploration, and everything, and it will be constantly updated and expanded to the final quality that we plan for.

Buyanov explained the first iteration will likely have just 20 PMCs as Battlestate first ensures the new map doesn’t break networking.

“There is a huge task related to networking,” he said. “There is a BIGGER task to optimize it and make it playable on current configurations.

The main challenge right now is to make it playable in terms of performance and network performance because, as I promised before, it must be playable with at least a lot of Scav AI bosses,” he added.

Buyanov also noted the coming update will include revamped audio, an expanded storyline, more hideouts, and rebalancing of some skills.

The Anticipation for the New Map and Its Features

Earlier this spring, Battlestate revealed that Arena will begin beta testing later this year.

In yesterday’s livestream, they announced there will be four arenas at the standalone game’s launch, and it will arrive ready to use in esports.

The anticipation for Streets of Tarkov is high, especially with the significant increase in player count.

The current maps with 14 players are already intense, but having up to 40 players will take the experience to a whole new level.

Personal Experience with Tarkov’s Evolution

As an avid Escape from Tarkov player, I’ve seen the game evolve significantly over the years.

The current maps, while challenging, sometimes feel limited in terms of player interaction due to the lower player count.

The idea of Streets of Tarkov bringing between 30 to 40 players is thrilling.

It promises a more dynamic and unpredictable gameplay experience, something many players, including myself, have been yearning for.

Challenges and Excitement for the New Map

The challenge of optimizing such a large map with a high player count is immense.

Networking and performance issues are real concerns, but Battlestate’s commitment to delivering a playable and enjoyable experience is reassuring.

Introducing more Scav AI bosses and an expanded storyline adds layers of depth to the game, making it even more immersive.

Expanding the Gameplay Horizons

The addition of new hideouts and the rebalancing of skills are also exciting updates.

These changes will not only enhance the gameplay but also provide more strategic options for players.

The revamped audio is another aspect that I am looking forward to, as sound plays a crucial role in the tactical gameplay of Escape from Tarkov.

Looking Forward to the Future of Tarkov

The announcement of the Arena and its readiness for esports is a testament to the game’s growing popularity and competitive nature.

The beta testing later this year will be an exciting period for the community, as we get to explore and master the new arenas.
