How to Improve Rank in Marvel Rivals

The competitive shooter market is getting saturated. On the one hand, we have great titles with passionate and creative developers who are putting in an immense amount of hard work to make our favorite games better and better. On the other hand, we have gotten Concord and whatever their developer team was doing. Competitive hero shooters or competitive first-person shooters only have a few slots left at the top of the game charts, and at the bottom of those charts, we have Concord.

In previous years, the only big and decent competitive hero shooter we had was Overwatch. But in these upcoming years, we have seen a wave of big hero shooters getting released as free-to-play, unlike Concord and we saw what happened to it. The next big hero shooter we have gotten, which has challenged the industry giant Overwatch, is none other than Marvel Rivals. Unlike Concord, Marvel Rivals has a great dev team behind it.

The cosmetic system is based on in-game currency, which you earn just by playing. The game features all of the well-renowned superheroes that Marvel has to offer, and apart from that, it is free to play. I mean, what more can anybody ask for? Due to these factors, Marvel Rivals has dethroned Overwatch 2 and become the biggest competitive hero shooter in the market. Now, in this blog, I am going to guide you on how you can become better at Marvel Rivals, how you can achieve the highest rank possible in the game, and maybe, you can become the next superstar of the game.

Pick a Hero and Learn It Properly:

The single most important thing you need to do is pick a hero and learn it properly. I mean, play that hero for almost 50 to 60 hours so you can know everything about them the timings, the abilities, the team-ups. You can even create your own strategies with that hero.

Most of the time, I see beginners making the mistake of hopping around the roster and picking whichever one looks the coolest. But if you want to improve your rank, that shouldn’t be you. Every hero in the game has different classes, different use cases, and different strategies to implement, and hopping around the character roster will only make things worse for your rank.

Now, what should you do instead of randomly picking your hero? Since you don’t know which ones are good and which ones are not, it all depends on your preferences. Most of us like to go all out and destroy our opponents, while some of us prefer to strategize our way through enemy lines. Some players also like to protect their allies and take damage for them. So, you have to figure out which type of player you are.

To make things easier for you, here are the easiest and most beginner-friendly heroes in the game:

  • Scarlet Witch
  • Hela
  • The Punisher
  • Jeff the Land Shark
  • Rocket Raccoon
  • Thor
  • Venom
  • Iron Man
  • Magneto
  • Luna Snow

You can pick any one of these 10 heroes and juggle between them until you find the one you like. But once you’ve made your decision, please stick with it and use only one hero until you know what you’re doing.

Learn the Maps

The second most important thing after your aim is your positioning, and it is heavily based on the type of hero you choose to play. The first line of attack is usually the tanks they are the front line of the team, taking damage for their teammates while providing an assisting line of fire. Just behind them are your duelists, who are the aggressors. Their responsibility is to eliminate enemies and weaken the line of defense. The last row of attack is made up of your medics, whose whole job is to assist both tanks and duelists with healing and shields.

Now, whatever role your hero falls into, you need to follow the blueprints above. These are just your starting points, and you have to learn maps based on that. After getting the hang of it, you can play more freely, but for now, you should only play as your role suggests. After getting enough practice with positioning, learn the most played maps and try different positioning strategies on them.

Here are the most played maps in Marvel Rivals:

  • Empire of Eternal Night Midtown
  • Klyntar Symbiotic Surface
  • Hall of Djali
  • Tokyo 2099 Spider Islands

These maps are fan favorites and the most played ones, so you should probably start learning them after getting your role positioning right.

Get Better at Aiming

“Aim is the name of the game.” I know it might sound obvious, but improving your aim is the single most effective thing you can do to get better at the game. In games like Marvel Rivals, aim plays a huge role. If you have better aim, then 9 out of 10 times, you will win a 1v1, regardless of your positioning, role, etc. Most players get too deep into their hero advantages, abilities, and map positioning, but they don’t work on their aim. While both positioning and ability usage play an important role, neither is as important as your aim.

Now, what you have to do is improve your aim. Firstly, you need to play at least 30 minutes in the practice range every day with a consistent sensitivity. Find a sensitivity that feels good and stick with it to build up muscle memory. The second thing you can do is play Deathmatch 2 to 3 times a day until you feel confident in your aim. If you’re looking to climb the ranks faster while refining your skills, you might want to buy rank boosting for Marvel Rivals, allowing you to compete at a higher level while focusing on self-improvement.

The last thing you need to focus on is your aim tracking and crosshair placement. To improve both, you can use an aim trainer because as of now, we don’t have a practice range that provides both. Stick to these steps, and over time, your aiming abilities will improve significantly.
