How to Earn Grand Company Seals

Seals are the currency you must acquire to pay for promotions in your Grand Company. Key methods:

  • Turn in deliveries via your Grand Company Personnel Officer (crafting/gathering supplies).
  • Complete your Grand Company Hunting Log entries.
  • Use Expert Delivery (turn in gear) once eligible (from Sergeant Second Class onward).
  • Participate in levequests, dungeons, roulettes that reward seals.

Being consistent with sealing up your contributions helps you move through the ranks efficiently.

Details by Rank Tier

Early Ranks (Private → Corporal)

At these ranks you mainly focus on paying the required seals. You’ll gain access to more features simply by being a member of a Grand Company. At level ~20 you join one of the three Grand Companies via the story quest.
Deliveries and hunting log entries are straightforward and help you build towards the next rank.

Mid Ranks (Sergeant Third → Chief Sergeant)

Here you begin to have both seals and specific tasks to clear:

  • For Sergeant Third Class you must finish the company’s Hunting Log Rank 1.
  • For Chief Sergeant you must complete a named dungeon quest (“Shadows Uncast”).
These unlock additional features: expert deliveries, higher seal caps, and better vendor items.

Advanced Ranks (Second Lieutenant → Captain)

Once you hit Second Lieutenant you are unlocking major gameplay features:

  • Second Lieutenant requires both seals and hunting log + quest.
  • First Lieutenant requires that your Adventurer Squadron (your NPC team) has been developed to a certain level via missions.
  • To become Captain you finish five unique Command Missions and the flagged mission “Sapper Strike”.
At this stage you’ll also have a much higher seal cap (allowing you to store more seals for purchases).

Unlocked but Inaccessible Ranks

Beyond Captain there are ranks listed in-game such as Commander, Marshal and even Champion that appear in the data but currently have no unlock method.

Why Rank Up?

Ranking up in your Grand Company matters because:

  • Higher seal cap: you can store more seals, which means you can buy more from your company vendor.
  • Unlocking squadron features: at higher ranks you can build and deploy your Adventurer Squadron, which is a major gameplay feature.
  • Access to better rewards: as you climb ranks, the items and perks available from the Grand Company expand (gear, materials, housing eligibility).
  • Sense of progression: beyond a level grind, your Grand Company rank gives you an extra goal and visible achievement.

Tips for Efficient Rank Progression

  • Focus on earning seals early via deliveries and levequests. Even modest daily seals add up.
  • Clear your Grand Company Hunting Log entries as soon as you can to fulfil those rank tasks.
  • Once you unlock Expert Delivery (Sergeant Second Class) start turning in gear you no longer need to earn seals quickly.
  • When squadron features are unlocked, invest into your squad: send them on missions, engage with the command mechanics to meet First Lieutenant and Captain criteria.
  • Keep an eye on the specific quest triggers tied to promotions — sometimes you will meet seal requirements but need to trigger a quest or mission before the next promotion option appears.
  • If you ever consider changing your Grand Company: changing typically becomes available at Second Lieutenant rank or above, but bear in mind your seals do not transfer.
