Destiny 2 now offers new zones, weapon changes, and fresh ways to level up for all players.
Big Changes & Updates
The Edge of Fate Expansion
This new expansion brought major shift in how Destiny 2 works. A new world called Kepler lets you explore areas by gaining new powers. Your power level was reset. You build strength through special gear called “Seasonal Bonus Power.”
Weapons and armor are now tiered. Stronger tiers give better perks and visuals.
They added new weapon types, such as crossbows, that fire single bolts for big damage.
Ash & Iron Update
This free update continued the story on Earth’s Plaguelands. It raised the seasonal bonus power cap so you can get stronger gear.
It added a 3-player activity called Reclaim and a tougher “epic” version of the main raid.
Gear, Armor & Stats Overhaul
Armor stats were reworked. Stats above 100 now give extra benefits.
Armor set bonuses are added: wearing certain sets gives you extra perks.
Armor energy / mod slots are more flexible. You get more freedom in choosing your build.
New Systems & Interfaces
A new interface called Portal organizes your game into activities you can jump into quickly.
Traversal powers in Kepler help you reach new paths, open locked doors, and solve puzzles.
One such power, Matterspark mode, lets your Guardian roll through narrow passages—though some players notice motion issues.
Gameplay & Strategy Tips
New Players
Pick one class (Hunter, Titan, or Warlock) and get comfortable with its moves.
Do gear-driven missions gradually. Don’t push too hard too early.
Watch tutorial guides and use community help to learn quickly.
Mid / Advanced Players
Target highest tier weapons in raids, dungeons, and challenges.
Synergy matters: your weapon, armor, artifact (if any), and powers should work together.
Revisit older content when updates roll out; sometimes loot gets better rewards.
Raids & Group Activities
Learn each boss’s mechanics before trying harder modes.
Communicate roles: who handles damage, who handles control, who supports.
Use builds that match your team’s style: crowd control, DPS, buffer, etc.
